It is as simple as remembering your T.I.C.K.S Rule for Safe Babywearing
Source: UK Sling Consortium
Tight: Slings & carriers should be tight enough to hug your baby close to you, as this will be most comfortable for you both. Any slack/loose fabric will allow your baby to slump down in the carrier which can hinder their breathing and pull on your back.
In View at all times: You should always be able to see your baby’s face by simply glancing down. The fabric of a sling or carrier should not close around them so you have to open it to check on them. In a cradle position your baby should face upwards not be turned in towards your body.
Close enough to kiss: Your baby’s head should be as close to your chin as is comfortable. By tipping your head forward you should be able to kiss your baby on the head or forehead.
Keep Chin off Chest: A baby should never be curled so their chin is forced onto their chest, as this can restrict their breathing. Ensure there is always a space of at least a finger width under your baby’s chin.
Supported Back: In an upright carry, a baby should be held comfortably close to the wearer, so their back is supported in its natural position and their tummy and chest are against you. If a sling is too loose, they can slump which can partially close their airway.
(This can be tested by placing a hand on your baby’s back and pressing gently – they should not uncurl or move closer to you.)
A baby in a cradle carry in a pouch or ring sling should be positioned carefully with their bottom in the deepest part, so the sling does not fold them in half pressing their chin to their chest. -

All of our wraps and carriers are designed to carry babies facing inwards only, whether on your front or your back.
We strongly discourage carrying your child facing forward in our Boba or any babywearing wrap or carrier for any amount of time.
Carrying your baby facing away from you, causes undue pressure on your child’s pelvis and spine, and if their legs are unsupported (which is almost always the case in outward facing carrying) it can create unnatural and uncomfortable arching of the baby’s back.
Carrying your baby facing you is the most ergonomic and comfortable position for both baby and wearer, and what’s more, it’s exactly how nature intended it to be.Baby wants a different point of view?
Our Boba X Baby Carrier, Boba Classic 4GS Baby Carrier and Boba Air Baby Carrier enable comfortable back wearing whenever you and your baby are ready! -
We have customers of all shapes and sizes who wear our carriers comfortably, and we’re proud to say our carriers are one-size fits all! Just in case you feel like you’d need that, we offer waist extenders as well!
-
The main difference is that the Boba X Baby Carrier is much more adjustable. The body of the carrier as well as the seat adjust in width/height as your baby grows. It does not need an infant insert to be suitable from birth and it comes with added detachable seat extenders for toddlers. It also features the PFAs (perfect fit adjusters) that are amazing for petite parents!
Boba Classic 4Gs Baby Carrier is a more simplified carrier that comes with an infant insert and is great if you are looking for something that doesn't need much adjusting.
We created a helpful chart on our comparison page to aid you in your search for the perfect carrier. You can even take a simple quiz for a personalized baby carrier recommendation!

The Boba 4Gs is meant to be used with the included infant insert until your baby can comfortably fit with legs out and be supported from knee pit to knee pit.
This may mean different age/size for every baby, so checking the fit of the carrier regularly is the way to go, but babies can fit with legs out comfortably from approx. 5 - 8 months. -
The Boba Classic Wrap has a different material composition (95% Cotton, 5% Spandex) which makes it slightly thicker and, therefore, more supportive even for bigger babies.
The Boba Serenity Wrap is made of a super soft bamboo blend fabric (68% Viscose from Bamboo, 25% Cotton, 7% Spandex) which makes it thinner, more breathable and gives it more bounce and stretch. It's definitely a favorite for the littlest of littles!

5.5 yards or about 5 meters, so they are truly one-size fits all!
-
The Air is made of ultra-light nylon that is a quick-dry material, so it’s a great carrier for the beach (just make sure it’s completely dry before storing it in its pouch)! As far as hot weather, while the carrier is very lightweight and perfect for on the go, it's not very breathable due to the nature of the fabric.
If you're going to be wearing your baby for a while, we suggest looking into the Boba X! -
No, we do not, all Boba wraps and carriers are designed with the intention to carry one baby at a time only. However, once they're big enough to tandem carry you can wear one in the front in either a wrap or carrier and the other in a buckle carrier in the back.
If you fancy trying a tandem carry you can book a complimentary consultation call! -
When choosing a baby carrier, make sure to always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines, as well as your own common sense. In any babywearing wrap or carrier, always make sure your baby is properly supported from knee to knee, that their face is always visible and off their chest and that they have plenty of air flow.
When wearing in the wrap, ensure all three layers cross the baby’s body from knee to knee and up to the back of their neck for proper support and that the wrap is tied snug enough with no drooping fabric or excess slack that could put your baby in danger.
When wearing in the carrier, always check buckles before use and ensure they are securely fastened. Make sure the carrier is snug enough to prevent the baby’s body from slouching and keep them high enough to kiss. -
